Neldon Bullock has mastered the art of marquetry - the process of selecting, precision cutting of natural colored and textured woods, and inlaying the veneer into an artistic concept. This art form is said to have been traced back to an ancient Egyptian period.
Since Bullock does not introduce stains, artificial texturing, putties, or wood fillers, the selection of wood varieties is extremely important. He obtains Padauk Vermillion from the Andaman Islands, Satine from South America, Rosa Peroba from Brazil, Lacewood from Australia, Gaboon Ebony from Africa as well as native varieties. Bullock slices his own woods to approximately three-eighth's inch in thickness to enhance the artistic quality of his work.
We are pleased to offer high quality limited edition prints of Bullock's exceptional pieces of marquetry. These prints are produced from Bullock's original works.
Due to an extremely adverse reaction to a vaccine, Bullock is no longer able to create new pieces of marquetry. Because no more marquetry pieces are being made, the originals have soared in value and these limited edition prints are now highly collectible in the market place.
